About East Hampton

East Hampton is a close-knit rural-suburban community located 22 miles south of Hartford and equidistant from Boston and New York City. The town is known for its rich history, environmental assets, and small town charm. The town prioritizes its enriching quality of life, town heritage, family orientation, and strong sense of community.

Home to about 13,000 residents, the town covers approximately 36 square miles, including one of Connecticut’s largest inland water bodies, Lake Pocotopaug. The town is bordered to the north, south, and west by state parks and forests.
