Pre-School Registration
Welcome to East Hampton Public Schools!
The Smart Start Preschool at Memorial Elementary School is a preschool program partially funded through the CT Smart Start initiative and designed to meet the needs of preschool-age children at risk due to economic or cultural disadvantages. Children with family income meeting guidelines below 75% of state median income (Care of Kids Program Median Income Guidelines) will be given priority placement. Other applicants, regardless of economic factors, will then be selected.
Students in our program participate in Music, Art, Physical Education and Library Media activities. We provide an opportunity for family involvement through family nights, events and conferences.
Instruction is driven by the Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards (CTELDS) and guidelines from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
Daily sessions are Monday through Friday 8:50 am to 2:50 pm, following the regular East Hampton Public School calendar.
Parents are responsible for transporting their child to and from the Smart Start Preschool.
How to Apply To Smart Start Preschool
Families interested in preschool programs should complete an application and schedule a time to attend our selection day screening.
Preschool Registration is open through March 21, 2025

Packets are available as of Feb. 3rd in the Memorial School Lobby, and the Public Library.
After the registration deadline please contact the school for a case by case review for at risk students.

Proof of primary custodial parent’s residency in East Hampton
Please submit a copy of one of the following with your Preschool application:
* real estate tax bill
* utility bill (Eversource, oil, garbage)
*mortgage statement
Parents will be contacted, no later than March 28th, 2025 to schedule a time to bring their child for the screening and lottery/selection process.

April 9th and April 10th, 2025
