At a special meeting on Tuesday, April 2nd, the East Hampton Board of Education appointed Dr. Timothy Van Tasel, as the next East Hampton Public Schools Superintendent, effective July 1, 2024.
Dr. Van Tasel previously served in East Hampton as assistant superintendent from July 2013 to June 2015. He returns to East Hampton after serving as superintendent for the Hebron and most recently for the Suffield Public School districts.
He succeeds retiring Superintendent Paul K. Smith who ends his 40-year career in Education at the close of the school year.
