Feeling ill, going for a check-up, visiting relatives or a local zoo?
We really need to hear from you!
Please make sure to call Memorial School when your child is absent, tardy or dismissing early.
East Hampton Public Schools is implementing the Connecticut State Department of Education’s Guidelines for Excused and Unexcused Absences and, therefore, written documentation is also necessary for absences. More information about these guidelines can be found at:
http://www.sde.ct.gov/…/guidelines_excused_and_unexcused_ab…
To submit documentation, we recommend using the convenient green “A Note to School” pads provided at the beginning of the year. This documentation can be submitted when your child returns to school and should be submitted to the main office.
As a support, Memorial School’s Attendance Committee - including Mr. Gonzalez, Principal; Ms. Crouch, Nurse; Mrs. Engelhardt, Social Worker; and Mrs. Parla, Administrative Assistant — carefully reviews and monitors student attendance and is available to provide support to families. Regularly our committee calls families regarding attendance issues, sends formal letters regarding attendance, schedules attendance meetings, and requests documentation required to excuse an absence.
Should you need support or have questions regarding attendance procedures, please feel free to contact any of us or your child’s teacher.
