PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Welcome to Center School!
Our beautiful building serves as home to children in grades four and five. The Center School learning community commits itself to ensuring every child is continually engaged in innovative and rewarding learning experiences. While students are moving through a transitional time in their education, we create an environment where students are embraced and challenged to grow as learners.
Lion Pride is embedded in the words and actions of the Center School community. Driven by our Profile of the Graduate, we instill empathy, creativity, adaptability, community, and curiosity in our learners daily. These dispositions reflect our classrooms' culture, instruction, and assessment practices in our classrooms to support the East Hampton Vision of “opening doors to inspire every student to dream, discover, and achieve.”
In the current school year, we will continue to build confidence to take on learning challenges and foster belonging in our PRIDE. We are excited to offer diverse social and academic opportunities that support and challenge learners. Our interest-based clubs, student leadership groups, and band and chorus programs aim to ignite creativity and spark curiosity. Center School continues to build dynamic learning communities where students, staff, and families partner to support social and emotional well-being and share the joy of learning.
Social and emotional learning is integral to supporting our students’ development. We pledge a commitment to classroom communities that guarantee a sense of belonging. Through implementing the Second Step curriculum, targeted social-emotional learning equips students with strategies and skills to manage emotions and build positive relationships. Upon this foundation, we move our students outside their comfort zone to engage in new, exciting social and academic growth opportunities.
The support of the PTO has been instrumental in providing quality experiences for our students. Please take some time to browse their informative website at www.ehepto.com. I look forward to creating and continuing the partnership with each family member and community member to provide the best possible education for the children of Center School. We appreciate and respect that our parents share what is most precious to them--their children. This partnership and trust are critical to the success of Center School!
Sincerely,
Jeremy Moore
