The EHMS EarlyAct Club held their October meeting this past Friday and painted kindness rocks for the community garden. In addition, the club raised a grand total of $1663.88 for their UNICEF Halloween Fundraiser, far exceeding their goal of $1000.00. The winning homeroom was Mrs. Kalisz's homeroom, earning almost $350; spearheaded by Kellen Garvey who brought in considerable donations for this cause. The homeroom enjoyed their well-earned prize, a visit with Ardo, the police dog during flex in the library on Friday. Great job everyone!

The EarlyAct Club successfully raised approximately $3,400 for this past weekend's Relay for Life event, far exceeding their goal of $1000.00. One determined member, Grace Flannery, set up a rubber duckie concession and raised over $1000 for the cause! Additionally, the club cheered on cancer survivors, and along with the Interact Club at the high school, took responsibility for putting out the hundreds of luminaria displays for families. Their advisor, Ms. Seeley, is so incredibly proud of all of the fund raisers and volunteers for all of their compassion and for serving as leaders within our community. They really do make such a positive difference in our world!

The motto on Team Ruby is “With pride and perseverance you will have the power to reach your goals”. Persevering is a trait that we have encouraged the children to practice all year. Middle school is a challenging time in a child’s life as they grow physically, mentally and emotionally. To ask a child to continue to fight through adversity whether in the classroom or in their personal lives, is a challenging skill at this age. Your child has shown that they have what it takes to push through a difficult moment and focus on their goals.
